Michael Dawson

Michael Dawson is an England international central defender who currently plays club football for Nottingham Forest. Born in Yorkshire on 18th November 1983, Dawson joined Nottingham Forest as a 14-year-old, making his senior debut aged 18 in the old English Division One, in April 2002. The following season the youngster established himself in the Forest first-team but would lose in the League One play-offs to Sheffield United. In August 2014, Tottenham Hotspur signed Dawson in an £8m deal that also took Andy Reid to White Hart Lane. Over the course of nine years in North London, Dawson captained Spurs in a UEFA Champions League quarter-final in 2011 and the UEFA Europa League Round of 32 in 2014. He signed for Hull City for £3.5m in August 2014 and captained the Tigers in their 2015/16 Championship play-off final 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday. Dawson has first called up at senior international level in May 2006 and made his debut in August 2010 – having been an unused member of the England squad at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
