Odion Ighalo

Odion Ighalo is a Nigerian international striker who plays club football for Shanghai Shenhua. Born on 16th June 1989, in Lagos, Nigeria, Ighalo played junior football in his homeland with Prime FC and Bridge (Julius Berger) FC before a transfer in August 2007 to Norwegian club Lyn, for whom he would make his senior debut a month later. Following one season Norway, the technically adept goal was spotted by the Pozzo family and would subsequently appear for three of their clubs: Udinese, Granada and Watford. Signed by Udinese in August 2009, Ighalo was immediately loaned to Granada for five years – who he fired to the 2009/10 La Liga 2 title with 17 goals in 27 games. In October 2014, he made a permanent switch to Watford following a loan spell, and was a vital part of the side that earned promotion from the Championship in 2014/15. An impressive total of 16 goals in his Premier League season saw him subject to a reported £37.5m bid from Chinese club Shanghai SIPG in July 2016. Ighalo made his international debut for Nigeria against Uganda on 26th March 2015.
