Philipp Wollscheid

Philipp Wollscheid is a German defender, born on 6th March 1989, who plays for . Wollscheid made his senior first team debut with SG Noswendel-Wadern in 2007, but quickly proved himself to be capable of playing at higher level, moving to SV Rot-Weiss Hasborn in summer 2007 and to 1. FC Saarbrücken a few months later. In 2009, Wollscheid had a trial with Nurnburg, learning his trade with the ‘B’ team for his first season. He became one of the league’s most reliable defenders once he was a first team regular with Nurnburg and signed for Bayer Leverkusen in summer 2012. After falling from favour at Leverkusen, he agreed a loan to Mainz for the 2014-15 season, but it was cut short so he could transfer to Stoke City in January 2015.
