Rodrigo Caio Coquette Russo is a Brazilian central defender born on 17 August 1993 who currently plays for Flamengo. Caio is a product of the Sao Paulo academy, having joined the club in 2005. He can also be deployed as a defensive midfielder, having started his career in the position. Caio reportedly agreed a deal to join La Liga side Valencia in June 2015, though the transfer would collapse due to the player failing two medicals. The 23-year-old was part of the Brazil side that won gold at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
