Ryan Shawcross

Ryan Shawcross is an English defender, born on 4th October 1987, who plays for Stoke City. Shawcross joined Manchester United’s academy as a teenager, featuring heavily for their youth sides before making his debut against Crewe in October 2006. He spent the early part of 2007 on loan to Royal Antwerp and became a regular member of the side. The defender was loaned again for the first half of the 2007-08 season, to Stoke City. The Potters then made his move permanent in January 2008 and featured as the club won promotion to the Premier League. At the start of the 2010-11 campaign, Shawcross became club captain for the West Midlands side. Although eligible to play for Wales, Shawcross was always determined to play for England and made his senior debut in 2012.
