Sam Mantom

Born on 2nd February 1992, Sam Mantom is a former England international youth player who is currently signed to Southend United. Hailing from Stourbridge, Mantom joined nearby Walsall as a junior before being invited to join the West Bromwich Albion academy in 2010. He would spend the majority of the first six years of his senior career between the two clubs, although he did take in loan spells with Icelandic side Haukar Hafnarfjordur, Oldham Athletic and Tranmere Rovers during that time. The central midfielder would make three senior appearances for the Albion before a permanent move to Walsall in January 2013, where he was part of the side that reached 2016 League One play-off semi-finals. He switched to Scunthorpe United on a free transfer in June 2016.
