Sam McQueen

Sam McQueen is an English defender/midfielder who plays for Southampton. Born in Southampton on 6th February 1995, McQueen joined the Saints’ academy as an eight-year-old longer-term and has played through the age groups, making his senior debut as a substitute in an FA Cup fifth round tie against Sunderland in February 2014. The technically adroit attacking left full-back or midfielder continued to feature for the Saints’ U21, for whom he played in both legs of the 2014/15 Premier League Cup final win over Blackburn Rovers. He also side U23 side, including appearances in the Football League Trophy. He spent the end of the 2015/16 season on loan at Southend United, making 18 League One appearances for the Shrimpers, before being named in Claude Puel’s first-team squad for the 2016/17 season.
