Steven Berghuis

Steven Berghuis is a Dutch international forward who plays for Feyenoord. The skilful, attacking wide player signed for Feyenoord on a season’s loan deal from Watford for the 2016/16 campaign. Born on 19th December 1991, Berghuis played youth football for AGOVV Apeldoorn, WSV Apeldoorn and Go Ahead Eagles before a senior debut for FC Twenty during the 2010/11 season. He was part of Twenty’s Eredivisie-winning squad in 2011/12 – although, ironically, he scored against his parent club for loan side VVV-Venlo on the final day of the season. He transferred to AZ in July 2012, where he would win back-to-back KNVB Cups in 2013 and 2014 and feature in a UEFA Europa League quarter-final. Watford paid £4.6m for the left-sided forward in July 2015, making nine Premier League appearances before a loan move to Feyenoord. Berghuis made his international debut against the Republic of Ireland on 27 May 2016.
