William Troost-Ekong

William Troost-Ekong is a Nigerian international central defender currently playing his club football for Udinese. Troost-Ekong was born in Haarlem, the Netherlands, on September 1st, 1993 and played his youth football in England with both Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur. Following his release from Tottenham, where he failed to make a first team appearance he returned to the Netherlands and FC Groningen. He played twice here before moving on loan to Dordrecht where he played 34 games. From here Troost-Ekong moved to Gent where he loaned immediately to Haugesund. Troost-Ekong actually represented the Netherlands at both U19 and U23 levels before being named in Nigeria’s U23 Olympic Squad for Rio 2016. He played each game in Brazil.
