Yaser Kasim

Yaser Kasim is an Iraqi international midfielder who currently plays for Örebro SK. Born on 10th May 1991, Kasim moved to London at the age of seven and passed through the Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur youth set-ups before being asked to trial with Brighton & Hove Albion. Having impressed with the academy squad, Kasim made a first-team debut May 2011. He would then spend loan spells in Non-League football with Luton Town and Macclesfield Town before Brighton reportedly rejected a £250,000 bid from Queens Park Rangers for the technically astute central midfielder in January 2013. He would leave the South Coast that August, signing for Swindon Town – making more than 100 appearances for the club over three years, including playing at Wembley in the 2015 League One play-off final. Kasim has full international caps for Iraq and was part of the squad at the 2015 Asia Cup, in Australia.
