Zander Diamond

Zander Diamond is a former Scottish U21 international defender who plays for . Born 3rd December 1985, in West Dunbartonshire, the tall, commanding central defender moved from west to east Scotland to begin his playing career at Aberdeen – for whom he made his senior debut in the Scottish Premiership in July 2005. The highlight of his time with the Dons came in February 2008 when he played in a UEFA Europa League knock-out tie against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. He moved to English football in July 2012, firstly with Oldham Athletic and then Burton Albion – reaching the League Two play-offs twice with the Brewers, before a free transfer to Northampton Town in July 2014. Diamond was part of the Town sides that retained their Football League status final day of the 2013/14 season and won the League Two title just two years later.
