Portland Timbers are an American soccer team who play in the Western Conference of the MLS. The club was founded in 2009, when the city of Portland was awarded an expansion of the Major League Soccer. In 2015, the Timbers won their first MLS Cup beating the Columbus Crew SC 2-1 in the final. Diego Valeri is the current top goalscorer for the Timbers.
